Glamorous and adopted and now accused of murder, Georgia Cartwright just became the crime of the decade. She’s locked in a psych ward for the violent and unstable and the only thing she’ll say to her previously unknown twin sister Amanda is “I didn’t do it.”
Amanda doesn’t trust her (she doesn’t even know her!) but something about the whole thing feels off. Family secrets, twisted loyalties and a psychiatric hospital that feels more like a haunted maze… nothing is what it seems in The Locked Ward and some doors are better left shut.
Family secrets and power dynamics and political BS (go figure!!!)
The favorite daughter murdered.
TWINS?!
Layers of twists.
Sibling rivalry? Jealousy?
The age old question: who is lying and what's the truth?
I really enjoyed the little twists and unveilings peppered throughout the story. It kept things interesting and made it hard to put the book down.
There were so many moments in this book when I felt anxiety in every inch of my body. The whole 'locked room' and ticking-clock vibe was driving me nuts and I could not not not not stop reading this. Is Georgia a psychopath? Is anything Mandy knows about her own life true?
If my seat had an edge then I would've been falling off of it while reading this.
***I also recently read House of Glass by this author and loved it.

IF YOU LIKED ‘JULIE CHAN IS DEAD’… this book brings a similar vibe. A great read for once you finish!
