Camille Bayliss completely stands out to everyone at Chantilly’s Bar: her red lips, designer heels and Negroni in hand draw the exact amount of attention she’s there to obtain. Except it wasn’t Camille at all; it was Aubrey Price slipping into her life for one very specific reason.

Camille suspects her high-powered husband is hiding something dark. Aubrey thinks he’s connected to the night that ruined her life. Together they come up with a simple plan. They’ll swap places for twelve hours and finally get answers.

But when Ben Bayliss turns up murdered the next morning, their plan explodes. Now both women need an alibi and only one of them has one.

Unfortunately for them, the truth is way messier than either of them bargained for.

Two women team up and swap places to create a paper trail for one of them snooping on their husband. This is basically a story about woman getting back at bad men doing mad things. But also there’s a lot of lying like who can be trusted and who is actually benefiting here?

These characters forced me to reconcile with myself that I could simultaneously like and hate the same person depending on who’s perspective I was viewing them from.

I didn’t feel like this was a straight forward “someone did something shitty to someone and now they’re exacting revenge” type story. There was so much more going on than I could’ve imagined which kept me fully glued to each page.

I devoured "FIRST LIE WINS" and I absolutely smothered myself in the digital pages of this cat and mouse game.
